Mac Or Pc – What Home Business Owners Say Works Best
This argument goes on and on and on between people, friends, co-workers and pretty much everyone online, a Mac or a PC? You know the specification, you know the costs. It's not as simple as which is better; personally I think it depends on what you need, what you're going to use the PC or Mac for and whom you are.
Grandmas obviously don't need something as high-tech as a Mac since some of them still prefer using dial up rather than broadband Internet. Businessmen and women, who travel a lot would benefit from having laptops and specially Mac laptops if they need their work on them to meet clients, show presentations and such. Kids or teens would also most probably prefer a Mac rather than a PC cause it's the in thing and it's 'cool'. What about home business owners? What would benefit them more?
You have three choices. Get a Mac, get a PC or have both. Factors that play out on the choices are budget, practicality and the need for the business. If you can't afford a Mac then get a PC. If you can afford a Mac and it could benefit your business more well then get a Mac. If you can afford both, you're a workaholic and you like the old and the new for back up purposes or simply having a separate business and personal system then by all means get both! If you're still weighing things out then here are some points that may help you out. These are the basics and not the in depth IT type solutions, for that, call your neighborhood IT doctor!
Do you want a high tech upgraded version of windows? If you do, then on a PC you need to make sure that you have all the proper applications in place to avoid viruses and clean up your hard disk space to avoid the PC from being slow, or buy a Mac.
Are you into or do you have a need to do picture editing, designing or such? Well, there's paint on a PC or Photoshop on Mac... okay, that's exaggerating! But when it comes to that kind of work, hands down a Mac can do you a lot more good than a PC can.
Do you travel often or meet up with people outside your home to discuss business? You can print everything you need with a PC and a Printer, or you can bring your Mac with you. I know everything seems to be Mac biased now but PC's will get a break soon.
Now, PCs are not all bad. They can be great, high tech and fully functional as long as you take care of them. Same goes for a Mac, as they are not bulletproof super robots, they can mess up to. Many people just see more benefits in using Mac's because of their lifestyle and with the changing times all things need to be up to speed, upgraded and competitive with everything and everyone else. So it's really not about what's better, but what works for you and your business.
